The free gas BBQ on the Killiecrankie foreshore is for day use only and the car park can accommodate about 50 vehicles. Ideal for groups, facilities include picnic tables, fresh water and public toilets and shower.

Killiecrankie beach occupies the southern corner of the bay, where the Killiecrankie Road terminates, and the small settlement sits on the lower slopes behind the western end of the beach.

The beach commences among the low granite rock and to the lee of Nobby Rock, a low islet. It curves to the east for 800 m to the mouth of Killiecrankie Creek mouth. The low-gradient white sand beach faces north across the bay.

Waves are very low to calm in the western corner, increasing to about 1 m at the creek mouth. They maintain a low gradient reflective of a low tide terrace beach, with rock reefs and seagrass lying 100 m offshore. The western end of the beach is used for launching small boats and several fishing boats are usually moored off the beach.
