Voices from the Graves

Many of the earliest non-indigenous people to arrive in Van Diemen's Lane were laid to rest in the Christ Church Graveyard at Longford.

Dramatic graveside commentaries bring the stories of two of these people to life.

A local historian will first set the scene, telling of the challenges associated with the settlement of thies area - the Norfolk Plains - in the early 1800s.

We meet inside Christ Church to start, then we make our way into the graveyard to hear the Voices from the Graves.

No booking required. $10 adults $20 families. Pay at the door.

The duration is approximately 45 minutes.

You will be walking on grass and gravel paths in the dark, so bring along: Torch, Warm clothes, Sturdy footwear and umbrella (in case it rains)

Voices from the Graves is presented by the Northern Midlands Council.
