George Town Council in Northern Tasmania presents The Heart of Community, a workshop led by Fiona Miller that invites people of all ages to explore creativity as a pathway to connection. Through shared making and conversation, participants will reflect on what community means to them and create woven heart artworks that symbolise belonging and togetherness.
Fiona brings a wealth of experience across creative arts, education, disaster preparedness, and grassroots community development. Her practice is guided by the belief that creativity has the power to unite people, foster resilience, and bring more heart into daily life. With all materials supplied, participants are free to focus on imagination, collaboration, and storytelling.
Set within the Macquarie Room at the George Town Memorial Hall Complex, the workshop is surrounded by cultural and natural attractions. Visitors can enjoy a walk along the Kanamaluka/Tamar River, explore the Bass and Flinders Maritime Museum, or wander through George Town's historic streets.
Places are limited for this special workshop, making early booking the best way to ensure a spot in this creative gathering.
