Exhibition: Full Circle

George Town Council presents "Full Circle", a contemporary exhibition at the Watch House Gallery featuring artists Catherine Phillips and Robert Habel. The exhibition brings together painting and ceramics to explore how artists engage with landscape, material and process through distinct yet interconnected creative practices.

This exhibition creates a dialogue between two artists whose work is grounded in shared history yet diverges in form and intent. Habel's paintings emerge from repeated observation of specific environments, responding directly to shifting light, weather and atmosphere through en plein air practice. Phillips' ceramics are abstract and process driven, shaped through iterative making where form, colour and surface evolve through material engagement. Presented together, the works reveal a relationship between representation and abstraction, inviting audiences into a deeper consideration of time, process and artistic inquiry.

Located on Macquarie Street within the historic Watch House, the exhibition site sits close to heritage streetscapes and the Kanamaluka, making it an easy addition to a cultural day trip or relaxed weekend visit. The Jim Mooney Gallery, The Art and Artisan's Guild and the Bass and Flinders Maritime Museum are all within short walking distance, while the Low Head Lighthouse and Pilot Station are only a short drive away, creating a rich cultural and heritage itinerary within the region.
