As I write this, I’m only a few short hours away from joining the VNT team at Launceston Airport to welcome the first Qantas service to arrive here in 16 years. This direct service from Sydney illustrative of the silver linings that have come from our COVID year.
Other good news – the Drive Journeys project is now live, with road signage popping up across the region, sparking a great deal of local curiosity and interest. Please read further to better understand what the Journeys initiative will mean for you.
We’re currently negotiating as a State-wide visitor economy network on the allocation of Regional Tourism funding announced by the Federal Government, …. more news on that to follow, hopefully soon.
But for now let me offer a heart-felt congratulations to you all for seeing through 2020 – not our best year, but one that has proven the spirit of Tasmanians is stronger than even a global pandemic.
If I don’t have a chance to see you at our industry year end function on Wednesday 16 December, please do have yourself a merry little Christmas and restful, ideally profitable new year.
We Made it – Come & Celebrate with us!
