The OFF Season has kicked off!

Any time of year is a fine time to explore Tasmania, but the cooler months are when things get wild.
If you dream of warming your hands in front of an open fire, sipping on mulled wine, relishing the warmth of a world class gin or whisky as it slips over your tongue, slides down your throat to warm your belly below, languishing in a sauna before stripping off and plunging headlong into the freezing waters of a lake, or letting loose and busting out your best dance moves with live music as your inspo - then Tassie in the cooler months is the place you need to be.
Dust off your Tassie tuxedo and head to Northern Tasmania for the OFF Season in 2024. With over 150 offers, deals and events from May to August there's good reason to keep coming back for more!

Here's a taster of what's on in Northern Tasmania

If you love a story that is told through music, words and movement then you love musical theatre! With Autumn as the spotlight and Launnie as the stage, the Australian Musical Theatre Festival brings stories to life over 5 days in May. Experience musical theatre in the most unlikely places from Launceston’s picturesque Cataract Gorge to a theatre foyer or a hotel bar.

Are you a gravel tragic?

When is the best time to visit Tasmania? Some will say 'not June' unless you are one of the few faithful, a gravel tragic, one who searches for the purest experience, the perfect road, framed by the perfect view, or perhaps you are thinking that The Devils Cardigan is a great excuse to see what else is around the traps?

Come to the Mountain Biking Mecca of Blue Derby in winter, test your fidelity to the goddess of gravel then kick off the lycra, pull on your Tassie Tuxedo (you have one right?) and settle in for a winter experience like no other!

A collision of agriculture and art

agriCULTURED is a Tasmanian event that is slightly OFF centre; one where an unusual interlacing of agriculture and art is crafted into a program designed to disrupt. Centered around nature as our provider, something far greater and more powerful than us all, attending agriCULTURED enables the reclaiming of your own rhythm albeit in a wabi sabi world. There are moments when stories can only be felt, rather than told and this festival offers a physical and metaphorical journey through the agricultural landscapes of northern Tasmania.

It's time to come out of your shell

Come out of your shell at the Tassie Scallop Fiesta! This winter fiesta takes place in Bridport, North East Tasmania, celebrating the fishing and maritime heritage of the region. Kick off the start of the scallop season with local food and beverages, music, cooking demonstrations and scallops! Of course this celebration wouldn't be complete without a bake off. Do you hold the secret to the best scallop pie? Put your baking skills to the test and submit yours for judging, or just come along to join in the festive atmosphere and get your mouth around some of the freshest scallops, best scallop pies, sample locally distilled gin and so much more.
