A visit to Launceston will place you in the heart of a rich agricultural region and give you the opportunity to feast on fresh local produce at many of our eateries, meet producers at a farmers market, pick your own berries or take a farm tour at local farms. And nearby the Tamar Valley Wine region, famous for producing award winning cool climate wines has many cellar doors open for wine tasting and lunch.

So how do you get here? If you are arriving from Japan your first entry point to Australia is likely to be Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne, all of these cities have airlines offering flights to Launceston Airport. The airport is a short 15-minute drive from Launceston and is serviced by taxi's and Uber, or you can hire a car and self-drive.
