Forget sitting on the couch for days on end scrolling through Netflix this winter. It's the perfect time to rug up, get out and explore natural wonders together as a family. When the weather is wet, the waterfalls are at their best so why not head out on a hunt to find the best ones this season.
Waterfalls to hunt for
This walk is 10km in total and will talk around 3 hours round trip. You'll be rewarded throughout as you walk along the Meander River, through wet forest and eventually you'll find one of the most spectacular waterfalls in the state. Winter can also see snow and ice along the way and you might even be treated to the sight of the falls freezing and turning into large icicles.
Only 45mins return from the top of the carpark, Liffey Falls is perfect for all ages and fitness levels. These mesmerising, multi-level falls will wow the whole family. Walk through mossy forest and enjoy different perspectives from the various viewing platforms along the way.
This 2hr return walk is a true local gem. Once made famous by early editions of the Lonely Planet Guide, these falls are a true delight to anyone adventurous enough.
