Windarra on High

Windarra is the original name of this beautiful heritage listed home built in 1876 by a prominent Launceston family. The name is aboriginal and means west winds, which is the prevailing wind direction here. Our rooms have all recently been refurbished, as has the reception and dining areas, this of course a continual process, and we have mixed the heritage feel with a modern twist.
Windarra is located within walking distance to the city centre, on High Street, sitting alongside many other beautiful homes and only a short drive to all the wonderful tourist attractions, such as the Cataract Gorge, and the Tamar wine region. With the airport a short 15 minutes away, Windarra is the perfect starting point for your Tassie holiday. We cater for couples, and our room rate includes continental breakfast or for a modest charge something cooked may be to your taste. And yes, we are a non-smoking property. Should you have any questions, please give us a call on (03) 6334 1874.
