Quamby Pines Chalet B&B

Quamby Pines Chalet is located in a beautiful valley near Deloraine. It comprises a self-catering 2 bedroom Chalet with Kitchen and a self-contained double bedroom. The CHALET sleeps 5 and UNIT 2 sleeps 2 persons.

All this is on a well balanced chemical free 40 acres with 5 acres of bushland accommodating a variety of wildlife.

There is also 4 acre of dam stocked with Rainbow Trout and not to be forgetting a pair of Platypuses.

You will love the 1 acre of garden with plenty of roses and a small orchard containing apple, pear and nut trees that surrounds your accommodation.

There is also a few grape vines growing, mainly as a feed for the many and varied birds using it as their B&B.

The rest of the land is for our Miniature Herefords www.hchminiatureherefords.com.au to spoil themselves in the lush Pasture.

It is a place of total relaxation and ideally suited as a base to explore Northern Tasmania, including Launceston, Devonport, the Great Lake or Cradle Mountain.

Quamby Pines is one of the few Places you can fish for rainbow trout in the three acre dam, some of our guest's caught them very successfully with Worm's in just a few minutes of fishing.

There are wetlands for the benefits of lots of different waterbirds, a family of platypuses and some pretty rare frogs. We planted more than a thousand Trees; all in the spirit of contributing to the environmental health of our region, thus getting the benefit of abundant native wild life, including potoroos, wallabies, echidnas, deer and the odd tiger snake. Lots of different birds make it a birdwatchers paradise.

We have a zero carbon footprint with all water collected from rain, our roof is home to a 9kw solar and 2 solar hot water systems, thus making us independent of electricity.

Also if you fancy some good food, try Cely's home cooked meals with spring rolls, venison schnitzel or filipino beef strips being some of the favorites.
