Myrtle Park

Myrtle Park camp ground is located in a large open grassed and wooded area on the set alongside the St Patricks River in the small town of Targa.

It offers unpowered sites and good amenities, and is suitable for large caravans and motorhomes.

Myrtle Park is app. 35 kilometres from Launceston and 30 kilometres from Scottsdale on the Tasman Hwy (A3).

Multiple facilities are located onsite including barbecues, playgrounds and tennis courts, as well as maintained amenities such as the showers, toilets and a laundry.

Dogs are allowed on lead in Myrtle Park but there are a number of environmentally sensitive areas where dogs are not allowed. These areas are marked with 'dogs not allowed' signs.

The park will be open from the 1st September 2023 through to the 31st May 2024, with 30 sites available to be booked each night, with a limit of 10 people per site. Bookings will be open from 1st August 2023 for season start of 1st September 2023.

What if I want to add or remove people from my booking?

Please inform park management of any changes to your booking's arrangements. All guests must sign-in to the site at reception upon arrival.

What if I arrive or check-in late?

Late check-in can be arranged through contacting park management prior to 4pm on the day of check-in by calling 0498835741.

My plans have changed. Can I cancel or change my booking?

You may cancel your booking at any time, however refunds are not provided on bookings cancelled within 24 hours of arrival.

Can I book multiple sites?

Yes, you are able to book multiple sites. Please be mindful that there is a limit of 14 consecutive night's stay, irrespective of the number of sites booked.

Can I book and pay for my stay on site?

All bookings must be made in advance online at www.launceston.tas.gov.au/Recreation/Parks-and-Gardens/Myrtle-Park-Recreation-Ground, or by calling the Launceston Visitor Information Centre on 1800 651 827.

Do I need to bring food, water or firewood?

Myrtle Park provides guests with showers, toilets, a laundry and barbeques. Campers must bring their own drinking water, water at Myrtle Park is currently not suitable for drinking..
