Traditionally in the colder months, Tasmanians like to escape the winter chill by booking holidays interstate or overseas.
But this year, with various travel restrictions in place, we’re encouraging people to support our local tourism industry and holiday at home, right here in Tasmania.
Here at the Launceston Visitor Information Centre, we offer a free service to connect Northern Tasmanians with some of our fantastic local tourism providers, and we’re open weekdays from 9am to 5pm.
We can assist with organising National Parks passes, developing itineraries, and booking transport, food and accommodation.
So whether you want to see a part of Tasmania you’ve never seen before, surprise your partner with a weekend away, catch up with friends on a wine tour, or simply get away from it all — we can help you plan your winter getaway.
We’re part of a state wide network of visitor centres, and we’ve got up-to-date information on which businesses and attractions are open right across Tasmania, including restaurants, cafes, accommodation and tours.
If you’ve never visited us before, we’re easy to find — we’re located in the Town Clock building in the heart of Launceston at 68 – 72 Cameron Street.
So if you’re planning to explore Tasmania this winter, drop in and talk us to us; we’ll be happy to point you in the right direction.
