BOFA film festival is a much-needed "breath of fresh air" and from 30 April – 30 May it spans in-cinema events in Launceston and Hobart, and if the sofa is more of your thing, you can join online for free. BOFA will showcase inspiring films curated around themes of Stories of Us, Chasing Wonder, Climate Action and more.
The Tassie Scallop Fiesta at Bridport on the 1st of August is a celebration of all things maritime, seafood and fine food accompanied by the best local beverages and an eclectic program of entertainment, including the scallop splitters challenge. Coinciding with the start of the commercial scallop season in the depths of winter, this isn’t one to miss.

The Cataract Gorge, the jewel of Launceston is at its best during the colder months. The fresh smells of the nature reserve and the mist hugging the cliff faces after it rains, makes it feel mysterious, like something out of this world.
